Zeolite Barn Deodorizer
Animal Bedding/ Barn Deodorizer:
Zeolite is a very effective absorbent of gases, fluid, and matter; this absorbent quality makes it an active odor controller in Animal facilities.
The mechanism by which Zeolite mineral works is that it acts as a sponge due to its pores; all kinds of matter that are liquids, gases, or fluids are absorbed and entrapped within the mineral’s original configuration that is its pores. This quality makes it best for use in Animal waste areas.
Animal wastes, both in solid, as well as liquid form, are used as fertilizers. Adding Zeolite barn deodorizer to the waste areas not only controls the smell but also increases the quality of manner to be used as fertilizers.
Ammonium is the main component of animal wastes. It is continuously converted to ammonia gas. Zeolite barn deodorizer, if present, absorb the liquid content as well and absorbs ammonia gas also. Ammonia from the microbial activity on the surface of manure is also not lost, preserving the plant-available nitrogen and increasing fertilizing ability all due to Natural Zeolite. The Nitrogen that is not converted to ammonia gets back to the soil. All this mechanism is based on researches by Hogg in 2003 and Meisinger in 2001.
Zeolite, a naturally occurring mineral that is safe for animals as well as livestock farmers and other workers attending to the areas where it is used as it is entirely harmless and non-toxic.
Natural Zeolite is Environmental Friendly Deodorizer:
Animal barns are almost always smelly as hell that is mostly due to odors emitted by Ammonia and Sulphur, which are a part of the animal wastes. Researchers have been observing for decades how Zeolite barn deodorizer can naturally help in combating odors when handling manure. But the smell is not the only problem Ammonia is also dangerous for the health; it can cause difficulty in breathing by irritating mucous membranes of the respiratory tracts of animals and handlers. This can impose serious health problems.
Monthly adding of 25 tons of Zeolite to animal bedding can help with odor. It absorbs moisture and gases, making the place better with zeolite. Mumpton carried out this research. He studied the effects of Zeolite barn deodorizer and experimented. The barn was marked as dry, healthy, and odorless
Koelliker experimented with the gas absorbing ability of Zeolite. The researchers developed a device containing six trays holding two forms of Zeolite. Trays were staked with a fine and coarse form of Zeolite. Ammonia contaminated air was passed through the device that successfully removed 15–40 percent of ammonia from the air.
Another study was made. The experiment consisted of adding natural Zeolite barn deodorizer to poultry wastes, and they observed a 44 percent decrease in overall ammonia loss. Kithome et all carried out this research. Ullman in 2004 studied that the manner was better too when zeolite was added as it had higher nitrogen levels due to less ammonia loss.
Karamanlis et al studied clinoptilolite effects in 2008. A group of broilers was taken into the experiment, and zeolite was added to their feed and bedding. The chicken having clinoptilolite in their food and barn had a faster growth rate, and the smell was less. Ammonia content was also low in the litter of the animals. Hence, in conclusion, Clinoptilolite had a positive effect on growth as well as the health of broilers, and the smell was less.
Zeolite barn deodorizer is good for safety as it absorbs moisture and liquid that helps to reduce slippery surface that, in return, causes protection for workers. After cleaning or washing, adding Zeolite removes moisture, so workers may not need to dry the floor out. Zeolite barn deodorizer mineral will remove the liquid by absorbing it. Adding zeolite to wet surfaces removes odor and helps in keeping the surface dry. Zeolite is not harmful if it is accidentally ingested or comes in contact with skin. It is not flammable and is eco friendly. It can be used in all circumstances, near water or fire. It can easily be used bare hands, no need for gloves as it is entirely safe for skin; it causes no hypersensitivity reactions.
